Over the years of planning weddings in Marrakech and now in Bahrain, there are a few venues that genuinely stand out to me as some of the most beautiful wedding venues abroad. These international wedding venues not just stand out visually, but also in terms of guest experience, layout and suitability for multi-day Indian weddings.
These are venues I consistently recommend to couples who want that true destination wedding “wow” factor from the moment their guests arrive. Two are my most favorite wedding venues in Marrakesh, and the other one the perfect venue for a Bahraini wedding.
The Oberoi, Marrakech
The first one being The Oberoi in Marrakech. Such a large-scale venue with incredible architectural detail, intricate design, expansive courtyards and multiple event spaces that work seamlessly for multi-day weddings.
What makes this venue especially unique is the setting of the long Grand Canal with the Atlas Mountains in the background creates one of the most breathtaking ceremony backdrops, particularly for a wedding.
The hospitality is also a major plus point. Especially for Indian families, as the service standards are extremely high and culturally accommodating. It’s the kind of venue that immediately impresses guests upon arrival and continues to deliver throughout the entire stay. It’s no surprise it is recommended by UK wedding planners for weddings abroad. As well as one of the top places to celebrate Indian weddings in Marrakesh.
Palais Namaskar, Marrakech
The second hotel is Palais Namaskar in Marrakech. This Marrakesh wedding venue always reminds me of a Udaipur-style palace setting. Very regal, very cinematic, and ideal for Indian weddings.
The venue is known for its beautifully carved arches, symmetrical layout and striking water features. Which make it perfect for a Hindu wedding ceremony setting. The architecture itself already provides a strong visual impact. Meaning décor can be more refined rather than overly heavy.
There are multiple event spaces including the lawns, the pool area, palace terraces and which allows each function from welcome events to sangeet and wedding to feel completely distinct while staying within one venue.
It also offers a slightly more private and exclusive atmosphere, which many destination couples really value.
Raffles Al Areen Palace Bahrain
The third is Raffles in Bahrain, which I genuinely consider an untapped destination wedding venue in the region.
What sets it apart is that all accommodation is villa-based, meaning each guest has their own private villa with a temperature-controlled pool. From a guest experience perspective, this is incredibly luxurious and very different from a traditional hotel stay.
The property is surrounded by greenery and landscaped gardens. Offering a softer and more natural aesthetic compared to many Middle Eastern venues. There are several outdoor and indoor event spaces, making it highly suitable for multi-day Indian weddings.
It’s also a venue where minimal décor is required. This is because the architecture, space and overall setting already speak for themselves making it a true showstopper without needing overproduction.
